Counselling Approaches

I use evidence-based approaches to support clients to increase personal awareness, reduce unwanted symptoms, break unhelpful patterns and build new skills. I collaborate with clients by discussing their challenges and concerns, exploring their strengths and offering my feedback, observations and recommendations. I work from an attachment and somatic lens that carefully considers how the mind and nervous system experience and interpret your internal and external world. Together we develop support strategies to increase your influence over internal experiences, and increase behaviour changes that are important to you.

The following approaches are foundational to my practice:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Expressive art therapy interventions

My practice is rooted in mindfulness theory, neurobiology and somatic awareness. My work is also informed by aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
