About

Hello! I am Danielle, and I am a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) offering both in person and virtual counselling. I am in person in Westshore and Victoria and my virtual services are available to all BC residents.

I love connecting with both youth and adults to support healing, growth and individual wellness goals. I prioritize creating safe, supportive, therapeutic relationships with my clients. I use an integrative approach, meaning I use knowledge of several evidence-based methods to best meet the unique needs of each person I support.

I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) treatment to support people with recovery from trauma, overwhelming experiences, anxiety, depression and chronic stress. I love my role as a therapist because I believe there are many paths to healing and growth. I find so much hope in this perspective for all of us. I enjoy collaborating with my clients and bringing my knowledge, support and creativity to the relationship to develop each person’s road map to their wellness goals.

I bring my authentic self to my counselling work and my practice is inclusive, neurodiversity affirming and welcomes people of all identities.

My Background

I have always been fascinated by people, internal experiences, human complexity and personal growth. From a young age I have appreciated that human diversity is as apparent, interesting and necessary as biodiversity.

When I was sixteen, I reached out to Queen Alexandra Children’s Hospital inquiring how I could support children with developmental disabilities and neurodiverse children. I became the youngest respite worker in the community and quickly developed relationships with several families. This was a foundational experience and I still carry so much learning from the children and parents I connected with during those years. This began over twenty years of working in a variety of support roles, a Child and Youth Care degree and a Masters of Counselling Psychology. From respite worker to education assistant, outreach worker, youth and family counsellor, social worker and mental health clinician on a multidisciplinary team, I treasure all of the learning each experience has afforded me. My passion for learning, connection and growth continues in my work today in private practice.

I am a parent of tweens and teens and live in the beautiful nuance of blended family life. I am deeply connected to the west coast and love to be outside exploring the endless natural beauty of Vancouver Island. When indoors I am often creating, painting and forever researching topics of interest. I have a background in Vipassana meditation and have a deep appreciation for the profound simplicity of impermanence in all experiences. The non-judgmental acceptance of what is, and the cultivation of internal awareness is my guide to living mindfully and intentionally both personally and professionally.
